I AGREE to my membership application being vetted by Suffolk Police and my personal details being kept in accordance with out data policy. The data policy can be found here.
I AGREE to inform SULSAR immediately of any changes in my details. (Any undisclosed medical condition or medication may invalidate your insurance cover, put yourself and team members at risk and impact upon the safe and efficient progress of the search and rescue operation).
I UNDERSTAND that medical advice may be sought to confirm that I meet the fitness levels required to be an active member of SULSAR.
I AGREE that I will treat any sensitive information, obtained during SULSAR operations, as strictly confidential and will not disclose this information to any unauthorised person or agency, and that all relevant paperwork/material will be handed in at the control point before leaving the incident.
I UNDERSTAND it is a condition of full membership that, to remain on the operational search call-out roster, I must attend the minimum number of training sessions per calendar year.
I UNDERSTAND new intake is 6 monthly however I will be available to attend training leading up to the intake session.
I UNDERSTAND my photograph may be used in promotional material.
I UNDERSTAND membership fees are £10 annually for full & associate roles (due on 1st January, members joining after the October intake will not need to pay again until the following year).
I UNDERSTAND that members intending to be included in the operational Search Team must be between 18 & 75 years of age due to insurance constraints.
NEW MEMBERSHIP COMMITMENT.
New members will need to attend a minimum of 3 training sessions before being put forward for an intake assessment, this is to show SULSAR that you can show commitment and gives you an insight into how we run and lets you meet the other team members.
If after 3 months you have not attended a training session we will remove you from our system and you will have to reapply.
On each training session you will be given a mentor, they will be responsible for you, they will explain what goes on and be your point of contact for the day so do ask any questions you may have.
You will be given a portfolio/logbook that you will need to keep up to date and get the relevant sections signed off by a member of the training team. Once your portfolio/logbook is complete and you have attended the full intake weekend you will be added to the active SARCALL roster and be able to attend live searches.
Once you have achieved Search Technician status we ask you to attend a minimum of 8 training sessions in a 12 month period, if you fall below this level you could be temporarily be removed from the active list until you reach the minimum.
